When you visit a dispensary, you will encounter a wide range of cannabis products, including flower, edibles, and concentrates. Concentrates, as the name suggests, contain the highest THC potency. While highly effective, many people aren’t familiar with how to best enjoy concentrates. Use our beginner’s guide to consuming THC concentrate at home.
What is THC Concentrate?
THC concentrate is a cannabis-based product made up of the THC found in cannabis flower and converted into oil or wax. The oil or wax has a significantly higher THC content than flower and most edibles. Like flower, concentrate comes in different strains, including sativa and indica. You can also find hybrids.
How to Smoke THC Concentrate
Flower can be smoked just about any way, including a joint or a glass bowl. In its concentrate form, it requires more heat to burn the oil or wax. While you can technically smoke concentrate in a joint or a bowl, these methods won’t get the most out of the product.
To smoke concentrate, you should use what’s known as a rig. A rig is a smoking apparatus designed to withstand extraordinary levels of heat. You will put the oil or wax into the Quartz banger and light it. However, you won’t light it with a typical lighter. Instead, you will use a handheld torch. It’s recommended to heat the quartz banger for several minutes before inserting the oil or wax. The heat will activate the THC in the concentrate for you to smoke it.
